About Insignia
One world, described from many sides — in prose, pictures, film and record.
Insignia is a world-building art project. Instead of telling one story in one medium, it describes a single world from several directions at once, and lets the pieces point at each other.
How to read it
- The novel follows one person through the world, one chapter at a time. Dotted words in the text are links into the Archive — hover them to see a preview.
- The gallery holds images from and of the world: paintings, maps, studies, artifacts.
- The films are moving pictures — some story, some document.
- The Archive is the world’s encyclopedia. It is curated rather than open: every entry is written from inside the world, and every entry lists the chapters, works and films it appears in.
You can start anywhere. Everything is linked.
